Membership in Covenant Community
Our mission is to honor and glorify God by growing disciples, abounding with God’s fullness, who confidently live and serve God by sharing His love in the world. We are fully invested in you as a spiritual brother/sister in Christ, to encourage and equip you in your journey to becoming a whole-hearted follower of Christ.
Because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord; and
Because I have demonstrated my commitment to Christ by being baptized as a believer; and
Because I am in agreement with the vision and mission of Community Bible Church,
I choose to unite together with the CBC family as member of this local church body.
This means that…
I will, with the Holy Spirit’s encouragement and help, continue to grow in my love for God (Matthew 22:37-39; 2 Peter 3:18)
…by regularly spending time alone with God, praying and worshiping Him (Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 4:2)
…by studying and applying His perfect Word, the Bible, in my life (2 Timothy 2:15)
…by faithfully participating in worship services, ABF, and a small group (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:25)
…by being equipped by pastor/elders to serve Christ more fully (Ephesians 4:11-16)
…And by submitting to the Biblical authority and responsibility of Elders/Deacons (Titus 2:15; Romans 13:1)
I will, with the Holy Spirit’s help, work to keep the unity of the Church (John 17: 11, 21-22: Ephesians 3)
…by resolving conflicts with others face-to-face, quickly, and Biblically (Matthew 18:15-20; 1 Peter 4:8)
…by refusing to speak poorly about or listen to gossip concerning another (Ephesians 4:29; 2 Timothy 2:16)
…by praying with my brothers and sisters for our church, our community, and our world (1 Timothy 2:8)
…and by following the leaders whom God has place over me (Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:1-3)
I will, with the Holy Spirit’s help, strive to make Christ’s bride be beautiful in His sight (Ephesians 5:21-33)
…by inviting my unchurched family/friends to attend worship services, ABF, and small groups with me (Luke 14:23)
…by warmly receiving those who visit our church (Colossians 4:5)
…by using the abilities and talents God has given me to minister in our church (1 Peter 4:9-11)
…by giving back to God a Biblical portion of my income and resources to support the mission of our church (Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:10)
…and by being a good testimony in my community (Philippians 1:27; 1 Peter 1:12)
Understanding the significance of declaring my pledge in this way (Nehemiah 9:38; 10:28-29), I make this agreement in writing:
